Because the thing is,
this life has countless moments
that make you want to run and hide.
Moments that break you
wide open.
And you wonder if you will
ever reach this land called hope.
Surely, you have heard of this land
But it seems like you have
always heard of it from afar.
But beloved?
Hope doesn’t always sound like a roar
Sometimes hope sounds like a whisper
it sounds like the sound of crashing waves
and maybe; just maybe it has been there
all along?
All along it has been there for you.
I admit, hope may not have called
your name loud enough for you to hear it,
But I promise you that it did call.
All the numbing of this life
can make you straight up deaf,
I know.
But hope is always calling.
Promise.
Hope always has to call,
for how else will we get out of bed?
Alarms never got anyone out of bed;
it is hope that rings loud in our lungs
and propels us to put our feet on the ground.
So, after all? Hope
has never been a land far away
It has always been there for you
It has always been sitting with you
It has always been calling your name
It has always been waiting for you
and cheering for you all along.
Keep smiling brave,
even in the seemingly quiet
and unnoticed moments
you are making a difference
with that hope-filled heart of yours.
“Now I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away. Also there was no more sea. Then I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.”’ Revelation 21:1-4
