GOD’S LOVE LETTER

aww...

We hear so many “I love you” during our lifetime that sometimes it really loses its meaning. We say it to let the other person know that we more than appreciate them. When we say those words we want to let the person feel valued and cherished and there is really nothing wrong with that.

But I’m afraid we mistake God’s perfect love for earthly love. So what’s the difference between the two? Well, I think we all know that there is a big difference! Earthly love is defined as the passion or the stomach butterflies we get when we see a person we care about. The world mainly defines love as the attraction between two people. No wonder why people in these days divorce so quickly. The attraction goes and they think “love” is gone but what people don’t know or forget is the attraction can’t last forever! Love goes way beyond feelings and emotions.

Now, let’s take a look at God’s love.

I don’t know where to start. Lord, am I even worthy to speak of Your love? Me who always forgets about Your perfect love, me who have felt unworthy and broken many times that I can count. Precious Lord, Have Mercy! “By this we know love, that He laid down His life for us.” (1 John 3:16) Let’s humble our hearts and hear the voice of the Lord calling us to rest in His love. Calling us to love like Him, but is that even possible?

Lean on Me because you know I can’t be moved, you know My love is true, you knowNever will I leave you; never will I forsake you” Hebrews 13:5

“I love you so much. Do you believe that? Yes, you may “believe” it. But what I mean is, do you live like you believe that?” Lord, please Have Mercy on us! I sent My son to bleed for you, for you, because of you.

Love is sacrifice! And I know that’s not what you are used to hear. Don’t you see that it broke my heart to hear my son cry “Eloi, Eloi, lema sabachtani?” Mark 15:34 And I had to look the other away? But I would do the same over and over again if I had to! Because you see, I couldn’t bear not being close to you. Don’t you see what My son’s crucifixion did? It made you whole and it healed you. Isaiah 53:5 Most importantly the veil between us was torn. The wall of sin that separated Me from you was torn apart. Now, that’s why nothing will ever separate Me from you. “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword?” Romans 8:35

Nothing can separate me from God.

I am trying to let those words sink in.

Lord, please have mercy on us.

Let me confess: the thing is, I have heard about this type of love many times in my life now and I have “believed it”, I have also believed God. But what do you answer when the Lord asks you straight up “have you lived a life that knows that I adore you”? My answer is no, Lord; and I beg You for Your forgiveness. If we believe God’s love for us, why do we feel insecure?

Why do we live in fear?

Psalm 139:14 tells us that we are “fearfully and wonderfully made”. By the grace of God, there will be no more insecurity. 1 John 4:18 says, “There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love.” Perfect us in love, please Jesus, for Your own sake.

The second question I asked early is how in this wide world do we love like Him?

I have no idea how but I know two things to be true and that’s what I will always hold on to when I feel like I can’t breathe because of life’s pain and hurt:

  1. For with God nothing will be impossible. Luke 1:37
  2. God is for me and nothing will ever separate me from Him. Ever Romans 8:31-39.

Lord, I pray that we may live like we believe in Your love, because believing what You say is not enough. I pray that I may always be at you feet, because it’s there that I will hear clearly Your guidance. I pray for humility Lord, because it will allow me to love like You loved; I pray for unselfishness because it will allow me to put others first. And in the precious name of Jesus I pray for a heart that loves like Yours, Father. Allow us this, for Your name’s sake.

I am forever thankful for You, Lord. Forever.
