When our hearts ache
and we can’t see Your light.
Hold us up, Lord?
Please.
When our eyes have grown
dim from eagerly waiting on You,
show us that Your strength
is more than enough at each step.
When our weaknesses have
threatened to undo us,
It is You, Lord
It is You the beginner
and the perfecter of our faith.
A broken heart You can never
turn away.
It is precisely then
that You draw closer.
When pain has become
our companion
When sorrow is an intimate friend
Let the eyes of our hearts
see Christ.
The Son of Man who was acquainted
with grief and who bore our sorrow.
When words are beyond
what our lips can utter,
we can still take comfort
in the truth of who You are for us.
The Holy Spirit intercedes for us
with groanings too deep for words.
Can there be a greater comfort than that?
The comforter, the Holy Spirit,
we have You, we have Your ministry,
we have fellowship with You.
Yes, hearts fail, bodies grow frail,
but The comforter lives in our flesh and blood.
When sin has turned its ugly head on us,
When we have failed You Lord,
Your word taunts these very words:
“Can these bones live?”
And our hearts reply: “You know Lord,
You know!”
Breathe on us, o breath of God!
Breathe on us, we implore with You!
When our aching hearts
seem to have no place of rest,
may we call to mind that this is not
our home.
We are eagerly awaiting
Heavenly bodies.
And in the meanwhile,
The Lord of lords is purposely
using the ache of
our hearts to purify us.
Aching hearts are just gold in the fire.
Hearts in God’s fire.
We are pure in Jesus.
And only with pure hearts
can we behold God.
Rest assured, beloved
the aching of our hearts is
perfectly accomplishing God’s purpose.
Thank You for who You are God,
thank You!
“Hold on in faith. Don’t be afraid -because you are in Christ’s school. Everything is under His control. Suddenly the hour will come when your battle will end and your victory will be made real. You’ll come out of the fire a vessel of honor -to do His will…” David Wilkerson
“Behold, I have refined you, but not as silver; I have tested you in the furnace of affliction.” Isaiah 48:10
“The furnace is a good place for you, Christian; it benefits you; it helps you to become more like Christ, and it is fitting you for heaven. The more furnace-work you have the sooner you will get home; for God will not keep you long out of heaven when you are fit for it. When all the dross is burned, and the tin is gone, he will say, “Bring hither that wedge of gold; I do not keep my pure gold on earth. I will put it away with my crown jewels in the secret place of my tabernacle of heaven.” Charles Spurgeon
