On the shore of eternity
you could look back
and see
Mind you, this seeing
is only for a split-second
But still you could see it
How the aching of the heart
gave way to more of God
How the chaos that wrecked
havoc in you led to the slow
death of letting go.
A death that led to not only
life but the fullness of life.
How tears are always the ground
for more resonance.
Things unexplainable can be touched,
how miracles still waked abandoned hope,
Could you see yourself in this?
How this wild journey was always
I really mean always, it was always meant to
get you out of the comfort of your one frail life.
The longing for more
This traceable longing
It can be touched with this knowing
This knowing that you always
belonged to all the beauty and grace
that God lavishly offers.
And there is more
Could you believe that?
How failures and all the disappointments
led to joy
How could this be?
There is always wonder in giving God space
There is always serenity in the unknowns
Truly, you could look back with wild joy
You could smile with every fiber in you
And you could finally see it
And you could wholeheartedly believe it too
How each season, each moment,
each second, each beating heart,
each breath inhaled and exhaled
was truly and I mean truly was meant
to bring all things for your good
Yes, your good
And wholeness could be found in surrender
A surrender to a faithful God
who is more than steady and good.
And you could truly see with the eyes of
your heart that there is always grace for you.
You can trust,
You can believe,
You can exhale peace,
You can inhale love,
He is a good, good, good God
And His waves will always carry you.
“I am the Lord , and there is no other,
besides me there is no God;
I equip you, though you do not know me,
that people may know, from the rising of the sun
and from the west, that there is none besides me;
I am the Lord, and there is no other.
I form light and create darkness;
I make well-being and create calamity;
I am the Lord, who does all these things.
“Shower, O heavens, from above, and let the clouds rain down righteousness;
let the earth open, that salvation and righteousness may bear fruit;
let the earth cause them both to sprout;
I the Lord have created it.
“Woe to him who strives with him who formed him,
a pot among earthen pots!
Does the clay say to him who forms it, ‘What are you making?’
or ‘Your work has no handles’?
I made the earth
and created man on it;
it was my hands that stretched out the heavens,
and I commanded all their host.” Isaiah 45:5-9,12
